His research in exercise physiology is focused on the adaptive response of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system to exercise, nutrition, and physical training using aquatic, endurance, and resistance modalities of exercise. In addition, he has in progress research projects in sports physiology to profile elite athletes and study factors that contribute to the health of athletes, including nutritional supplements. He has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters, as well as a laboratory instructional manual in exercise physiology. Dr. Crouse and his wife, Jana, reside in College Station, and are the proud parents of three married daughters.
