BOB LONGAN FUND FOR EXCELLENCE IN FOOD TECHNOLOGY
In memory of Bob Longan and his longtime career in the Food Science Industry, the Bob Longan Fund for Excellence in Food Technology was established by Frito Lay and PepsiCo Inc. and friends of Bob Longan. This endowment recognizes excellence and leadership in the Food Science and Technology Program.

PROFESSOR EDWARD “ED” EUGENE BURNS, Ph.D. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Dr. Wai-Kit Nip ’65 and John Dale ’65, Judy Dale, Tiffany Dale ’90, Jason Dale, and Jared Dale donated to the Professor Edward “Ed” Eugene Burns Ph.D. Memorial Scholarship in memory of Texas A&M Professor Dr. Edward Eugene Burns.  Throughout his career, Dr. Burns authored over one hundred scientific articles and developed the foods program of the manned spacecraft efforts of NASA throughout the Apollo flights. This scholarship honors full time students in good standing pursuing a degree in the Department of Food Science and Technology.

KRUSE FAMILY/BLUE BELL CREAMERIES SCHOLARSHIPS
The Blue Bell Creameries/Kruse family scholarships were generously donated in recognition of the Kruse’s commitment to higher education and their love for Texas A&M University. These scholarships recognize students who have high academic standards and are committed to Dairy Science, Food Science and Technology, or Agricultural Engineering. The students recognized by these scholarships demonstrate strength by leadership and excel in service to Texas A&M University.

Karen Gremminger ’87 and Mark Bullard established this scholarship endowment through the One Spirit One Vision – Texas A&M Campaign. It is to recognize students in the Department of Food Science and Technology based on academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to education.

WILLIAM AND MILDRED DAFCIK FOOD SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
Town Talk Foods, Ltd. Established this endowment to recognize William and Mildred Dafcik and their commitment to higher education. This award is dedicated to students in high academic standing who are pursuing a career in food safety, food science or technology and preferably to veterans or children of veterans.

MARY PAT AND MICHAEL J. BOLNER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Mary Pat and Michael J. Bolner ’73 established the endowed scholarship for an undergraduate student pursuing a Food Science and Technology degree.

VICKI KLOERIS FOOD SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
Vicki Kloeris generously funded this one-time food science scholarship. Kloeris has worked in food systems, processing, and provisioning since 1985, and she recently retired after 30 years of managing space food systems for NASA. Kloeris is currently the President Elect of the Institute of Food Technologists, and she serves on the Advisory Council for IFT and Engineering at Texas A&M.

JAY ’91 AND KIMBERLY BRIGHAM SCHOLARSHIP
Jay ’91 and Kimberly Brigham established this endowed scholarship for an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the Department of Food Science & Technology from Texas A&M University. It is to recognize students based on good standing, academic achievements, extra-curricular activities, and financial need.

This award recognizes distinguished academic achievement, department citizenship, university and / or community service and personal accomplishments of students during their undergraduate program.  It is the highest honor the college bestows on its students.
